Research on Gradient Control of Heat Sealing Strength of Microcrystalline Polyolefin Film and Its Application

The current ordinary BOPP heat sealing film on the market generally has a heat sealing strength of ≤ 4N/15mm, which cannot meet the packaging requirements of products with high heat sealing strength. It needs to be combined with PE or CPP for heat sealing packaging of products, and cannot be used as a substitute for existing PE or CPP heat sealing films in daily use.

 

Through the development of this project, materials such as metallocene polyethylene are introduced into the heat sealing layer to produce a new type of polyolefin film with high heat sealing strength. Unlike traditional BOPP film, it can be made into separate bags without the need for PE or CPP composite. It is used for packaging of food, medicine, and other products, adapting to different application scenarios except for heavy packaging, and filling a technical gap in heat sealing packaging materials in China.


Project Introduction


Research on Gradient Control of Heat Sealing Strength of Microcrystalline Polyolefin Film and Its Application.The project won the first prize of science and technology in China's packaging industry in 2023.

The first applicant for this project is Fujian Normal University of Technology. In the field of packaging material development, it has established the "Fujian Province University Engineering Research Center for Food Soft Plastic Packaging Technology", which has film processing and testing equipment such as granulators and casting machines. It has been conducting long-term research on the modification of polyolefin films and has achieved remarkable scientific research results. The second unit is Tianjin Huaheng Packaging Materials Co., Ltd., which is a national high-tech enterprise, the most influential enterprise in the packaging industry in Tianjin, and an excellent technology-based small and medium-sized enterprise in the Binhai New Area of Tianjin. It has been awarded the 23rd batch of Tianjin Enterprise Technology List. Mainly engaged in the research and production of BOPP film, with multiple internationally advanced BOPP production lines and an annual output value of 800 million yuan.

This project relies on the Tianjin Science and Technology Plan project jointly applied by Huaheng and Fujian Normal University in 2017: "Development of Microcrystalline High Transparent BOPP Film Based on High Elasticity Stretching Technology", as well as two horizontal scientific research projects commissioned by Huaheng and Fujian Normal University in 2020 and 2021, "Development of High Transparency and Few Crystalline Point PP Film" and "Research on Gradient Control of BOPP Film Heat Sealing Strength and Its Application", to complete the development of the project's products.
