Polyimide (PI) is a "problem solving expert". Benefiting from excellent comprehensive performance and excellent processing performance, PI can be made into various forms of products except rubber, including PI film, PI fiber, PI foam, PI resin, photosensitive PI (PSPI), CPI, etc. The diversity of product types ranks among the forefront of polymer materials, which are widely used in electronic communications, aerospace, new energy, automotive industry and other fields, highlighting the importance of high-tech industries. PI film is the most mature and marketable product form of PI. For a long time, the high-performance PI film market has been dominated by a few foreign manufacturers such as PIAM, Zhongyuan Chemical, and Dongli DuPont. The supply of PI film in China is mainly electrical grade, and a large number of high-performance electronic products are imported. In recent years, China has accelerated technological innovation and research and development in areas such as PI for flexible copper-clad laminates, PI for flexible OLEDs, liquid crystal PI alignment agents, transparent polyimide films for foldable screens, and photosensitive polyimides. A few enterprises have achieved some key technological breakthroughs and begun to introduce mass production applications to user enterprises. However, the product variety and high-quality scale competitiveness still need to be strengthened urgently to ensure the security and stability of the electronic information industry supply chain.
